Joe Greenwood

Joe has dedicated his career to scaling data-driven products, services, and businesses while leveraging data to achieve positive market and social outcomes. Currently serving as the Vice President of Global Data Strategy at Mastercard, Joe leads enabling responsible data and AI innovation throughout the global data and cyber intelligence services businesses. Additionally, he spearheads the business and technology strategy program for implementing Generative AI across Mastercard.

Before his role at Mastercard, Joe served as the Lead Executive for Data at MaRS Discovery District in Toronto where he founded the data practice, fostering strategic partnerships to scale Canadian data and AI businesses across various sectors, including retail, finance, energy, and healthcare. Joe also held leadership positions as a senior product leader for secure real-time data services at BlackBerry and as the Head of Product Development for location-based data products at Ordnance Survey UK.

Educationally, Joe holds a BSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia, an MSc in Geographical Information Science from the University of Edinburgh, and an MBA from Manchester Business School. He is a Certified Analytics Professional and serves as a Privacy and Access by Design Ambassador.
